Microneedling is our most popular treatment, year after year. Let us tell you why it’s not just another trend. It’s here to stay.
Do you know those days when you get a little bit too close to the mirror and your pores are just out of hand? Or the days when you’re feeling a little dull and the collagen powders aren’t doing what they promised? Or what about the times when your acne scarring won’t let you forget your awkward teenage years? We get it. We’ve been there, but you don’t have to stay there.
The remedy to your problems is simple: microneedling.
So, what is microneedling?
Microneedling is a painless treatment using a FDA-approved pen device with tiny needles that cause controlled micro-injuries to your skin. Those small injuries, or pinpoint punctures, stimulate your skin to begin its natural healing process, which produces collagen and elastin.
Why does everyone want more collagen?
Is this just a trend? Actually, no. Collagen is the most abundant protein in your body. Starting at age 20, your body starts to slow down its collagen production. When collagen decreases, wrinkles, fine lines, and loss of elasticity begins to increase over time — causing your pores to be larger and the effects of aging more noticeable. Not only is microneedling effective for large pores and fine lines, but it helps reduce scarring, as well. The production of elastin and collagen helps minimize scarring.
The Process
Microneedling is one of the most beneficial hour-long appointments you will ever book for your skin. The first half of your appointment is spent numbing with a topical cream. The second half is when the magic happens. It’s no secret how much we love France-based Biologique Recherche skincare in our office. During your microneedling session, we infuse BR’s Cocktail d’Actifs serum in your skin. This serum is highly concentrated with vitamins and polypeptides that increase the benefits of your treatment by revitalizing your skin (hello, glow!), plumping and hydrating your skin, and decreasing healing time.
Healing Process
The downtime for this treatment is 24 hours. During this time, we require you hold off on activities that would cause you to sweat or have any sun exposure. We send all of our patients home with a post-care kit and instructions.
FAQs:
How many sessions do I need?
We typically suggest 3 sessions, spaced 4-6 weeks apart for optimal results. After your initial three sessions, we suggest a treatment once or twice yearly to maintain benefits.
But keep in mind, one session is better than none and extremely beneficial to the skin.
Is this pregnancy safe?
Yes, however, we always ask that you consult with your physician before scheduling.
Cost?
Microneedling with us is $500 a session, or a package of three for $1350. It’s an investment, but well worth it. Keep an eye on our website and Instagram for sale announcements and don’t forget about our referral program!
