We get a lot of questions about what the difference is between a lip flip and lip filler.
A lip flip is a good option if you’re not quite ready for filler. A lip flip is a treatment where we inject a few units of Botox into the upper lip area, which causes the upper lip to relax and “flip” outward, giving it a fuller appearance. Most patients choose to include a lip flip in their regular Botox treatment -- it’s super simple and the procedure itself takes about two minutes.
Lip filler is quite different than a lip flip. Filler is a gel made of hyaluronic acid. Lip filler can hydrate your pout, eliminating lines within your lips with a very subtle, natural look. It can also reshape and add volume to your lips. The appointment time lasts about 45 minutes to an hour, starting with a consultation to make sure you’re a good candidate. You’ll comfortably numb for 30 minutes before the procedure. Our providers always take their time to do their best work. It takes anywhere from ten to twenty minutes to create the perfect pout. Downtime may include swelling and bruising and can last anywhere from two days to a week.
Lip flips last about six weeks. Lip filler, on average, lasts around 6-9 months, depending on the type of filler used. Some filler lasts up to 12 months — it all depends on the filler used. Your provider at Complexion will know which filler is best for you.
The price difference?
Most lip flips are under $60-$100. Filler ranges anywhere between $750-$850.
