Did you know that one entire syringe of filler is equal to just 1/5th of a teaspoon?
One-fifth of a teaspoon will barely sweeten your coffee, why should we expect it to make an extreme difference in your face? Lucky for you, sometimes one syringe is all you need. Yet more often than not, one syringe is just a starting point.
To best explain why we may recommend more than one syringe of filler, it’s important to understand the different ways we use fillers.
When most people hear the term “filler,” they typically think of lip filler (we don’t blame them — it’s one of our favorite procedures to perform). But with a wide variety of Restylane and Juvederm fillers in the office, the possibilities are almost endless of what areas we can enhance, plump, and fill!
We aim for beautiful, natural results — so most of the time we start with one syringe and increase over time. Slow and steady wins the race, right? Here are the most common filler areas we treat in the office that most often require more than one syringe:
How much filler do I need for…
Tear Trough Filler (Under Eye Filler)
The post-2020 fatigue has sent a lot of beautiful patients running into our office noticing the darkening under their eyes -- especially since they’re wearing a mask and that’s the only part of their face anyone can see. We treat tear troughs often. Most patients start with one syringe, split between both eyes. The severity of the trough determines how many syringes we will use. On average, it takes about 1-3 syringes to achieve ideal results. Not even a teaspoon of product for you to look refreshed and rested!
Chin Filler
Chin filler is impactful for a patient’s profile. It’s subtle and a fairly quick and easy treatment that makes a big difference. This patient achieved her goal with two syringes of filler.
Jaw Filler
Jaw filler not only can balance your features, but it can also disguise an unwelcome double chin. It’s a fan-favorite treatment for both women and men, but it requires more than one syringe. A larger treatment area = more filler needed. Most patients need at least two syringes but again, we tailor this treatment based on your anatomy and needs.
Before you fall down the rabbit hole of self-diagnosing and self-estimating how many syringes you will need, know you can always book a consult with our providers or contact us to get an idea of what treatments will help you feel like your best self.
